Hi, everyone!

Thanks so much for being here today—whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a friend, or someone who just wanted to support us. We’re happy you came.

My name is Deyonna, and we’re part of a fantastic class where we learned how to tell our stories in creative and powerful ways.

We started by writing some poems—this was meant to help us think creatively, learn the value of descriptions, and practice public speaking.

Leondre’:
Hey, I’m Dre.

To write the poem, we were given a simple prompt: tell us where you’re from without telling us where you’re from.

We took time to visualize where we’re from and wrote out lines describing what we saw.

After that, we edited and practiced reciting them. Then we recorded them and had them edited into this video.

So now, please enjoy this short video of our class reading some of our original poetry.

Antonio:
Hi again! I’m Antonio, and we hope you enjoyed our poems.

And after that, we wrote our bios—where we shared who we are, what we love, and what kind of future we imagine for ourselves.

We learned that every story matters, especially our own.

Finally, we built webpages that incorporate our brand. That means we created a logo, picked colors and fonts, and designed something that reflects who we are and what we want to be known for.
