Marketing & Communication Class

Personal Brands
Each student went through a traditional design process to develop their personal brand. They learned about fonts, colors, logo design, and how to use this for personal marketing.

I’m From
This poem invited the students to learn the value of descriptions, creative writing, and public speaking. Shot similar to a TikTok video, this was an example of a video that could be used in social media marketing.
Group Brand
As part of the class, we worked on creating a group brand. This allowed the students to learn about branding before developing their own and encouraged collaboration and compromise. In the end, we settled on this brand: Unmute Yourself
Welcome to Unmute Yourself: A Marketing & Communication Showcase
This website is the culminating project of our Marketing and Communication class—a space where confidence, creativity, and personal expression come to life. Throughout the course, we explored the art of communication in all its forms: speaking with purpose, making strong eye contact, maintaining posture, telling compelling stories, and crafting powerful poetry.
Each student has created their own personal brand, showcased on an individual page featuring their "I Am From" poem, a thoughtfully written bio, and a professional photo that represents their identity and voice. We also learned the fundamentals of branding and website design, ensuring that every element reflects who we are and how we want to be seen.
More than just a class project, this website is a celebration of growth, self-expression, and the power of showing up with confidence. Step into our stories and discover the voices we've found—and the ones we're still becoming.
Professional Photographs
During one of our classes, we had a professional photographer, Samhi Fahmi, visit the class to share his experience working in the field of communication, including the importance of having a professional headshot. Then, he took photos of the students, adult volunteers, and others present, like Joe Graves’ son, Finn! (We had two students who missed this session!)
